Qualifications
Our standards are high. Village ordinance Chapter 20 Section 26 requires and states; - Part-time police officers shall be trained in accordance with the Police Training Act, 50 ILCS 705/1 et seq., and the rules and requirements of the state law enforcement training standards board. Any person employed as a part-time police officer must, as a condition of employment: -Be of good moral character, of temperate habits, of sound health, and physically and mentally able to perform assigned duties. -Be at least 21 years of age. -Pass a medical examination. -Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. -Possess a valid state driver's license. -Possess no prior felony convictions. -Have been honorably discharged from any prior United States military service.
