The Village of Indian Head Park, in conjunction with the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH), has initiated a Preliminary Engineering and Environmental (Phase I) Study for 2.3 miles of Wolf Road. Wolf Road is mostly a two-lane roadway under Cook County DoTH jurisdiction that primarily falls within the Villages of Indian Head Park and Burr Ridge. The City of Countryside and the Village of Willow Springs are also adjacent to the corridor.
To build upon the robust public engagement received since the start of the project in 2020, the Wolf Road Phase I Study Team initiated a two-part survey to gather additional feedback on the community's vision for Wolf Road. There will be multiple future opportunities to share your perspectives and opinions on the project, including public meetings. We look forward to collaborating with you!
This study's goals are to accommodate the projected year 2050 travel demands and improve operational efficiency; improve traffic safety and operations for all users; evaluate connectivity and accommodation for pedestrians and bicyclists; and reconstruct and update the roadway, structures, intersections, and drainage infrastructure following current design standards. The study team will further develop proposed improvements considering stakeholders' input and technical analysis.
